Cynthia Woolbright

Cynthia Woolbright is a nationally known fundraising consultant and advisor, whose skills and insights were honed over 20 years as a university advancement officer, most recently as vice president for alumnae relations and development at Hollins University in Virginia.

Cynthia began her professional career in student affairs, directing a comprehensive student life/campus program that focused, among other things, on leadership development for student organizations and the management of campus centers. Several years later she moved into alumnae/i and development administration, serving in various capacities where she provided leadership and partnered with trustees and alumnae/i leaders to set advancement direction and policy in fundraising. In addition to her tenure at Hollins, Cynthia served as an advancement officer at Smith College, the University of Vermont, and the University of Rochester.

In 2003, Cynthia founded The Woolbright Group in Rochester, New York, a consulting firm committed to helping educational institutions and other not-for-profit organizations build constructive partnerships with their boards, become mission driven, think strategically, develop sustainable resources, and become results-oriented in their work.

Woolbright received her Bachelors Degree from University of Stony Brook and a Masters Degree in public administration from Long Island University, C.W. Post Center.
